We drove in silence for a while, Frank and I. I'd filled out a mutual report for the both of us after wrangling his side of the story out of him. They'd caught our little runaway and the hacker he was with. I didn't know the details, to be honest. CSIS thing, not ASA. We were just doing surveillance for them. And now the two of us were done for the day, and I was driving Frank home. His quick thinking might have saved our hides, but it trashed his car. Not that either of us were complaining. The government picked up the bill, and neither of us were wearing halos. Good enough for us. I downshifted, savoring the roar of the engine under the hood. “I need a drink,” Frank said at last. When I didn't say anything, he tried again. “I'm buying you a drink, man.” |

Yes, I'm still writing. I just thought that I'd add something that was one of those "suden inspiration" writing things. Got the idea, decided to try a new style, and ended up with this. Feedback is most appreciated since it's a new style and all.

Thus ends chapter three. I have some ideas for Chapter 5, but I'm going to need a lot of help. Cursed items, be they useful or not! I'm going to need as many as people can come up with.
Next up, though, comes more college stuff. Especially Robbie's first actual encounter with the supernatural, and the encounter that broke both him and Kevin into the people that they are today. So send ideas for either one. I eagerly await them. |

| Threads, Chapter One |

This first chapter is an introductory chapter, to help familiarize people with various aspects of the main character, Kevin, and the setting in general. As well, it establishes the setting as being one of horror-comedy. (please note that it doesn't necessarially mean the comedic portions will necessarially be good.) As such, it is bigger than most chapters will be. (It even includes a time format that will NOT be stardard.)
I would also like to post a disclaimer. Due to the nature of the setting and the characters, one should only read so long as they understand the following things: They will encounter violence, vulgar language, offensive subject matter, humor based on the previous things, a fair bit of randomness, and juvinile humor. This will not appeal to everybody. This will most likely offend somebody. And they are not a standard as to the author's views.
If you are offended by anything you read here, please stop reading. I'll understand, and won't blame you. This isn't for everybody. If you are still willing to read after this disclaimer, however, then by all means ( Read more... ) |

Since I'm... disappointed in my NaNo, I feel the need to do something to repair it. It not being my NaNo, as I'm going to let that stew for a few years and see if I can salvage it later. No, "it" would ever so graciously be my that feeling of satisfaction that I get from writing.

In the world of mall construction, I often wonder about store placement. Especially now that I'm writing about a mall. Sometimes it makes sense (put jewelry stores where they can be monitored), other times it doesn't (a bookstore in the middle of a bunch of shops specializing in leather, ALA Wilson's).
It gives me this strange little sense of satisfaction to place a lingere store next to a chocolate shop in my happy little world. ...I'm so getting yelled at by SOMEbody over this.

Chapter Eleven: Snow
I stared at Kengo in disbelief. “It won’t go?”
The other man shook his head slowly. “Sorry, Yuki. I can’t even get it to roll over, and Nedde is out already. Hell, I even asked Ivan to take a look at it, but he’s got as much know-how as I do.”
I sighed softly, thinking. Of all the times for the truck to break down, it had to be today, when I really needed it. Nothing to be done about it, though.
